GENERAL INFORMATION: John Tyler Becoming Brightpoint Community College is a two-year, public institution of higher education and the fifth largest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia. RESPONSIBILITIES: Our college invites applications from highly motivated individuals to assist with Financial Aid Direct Loan administration and awarding. Incumbent will provide information to individuals seeking financial aid assistance utilizing PeopleSoft Student Information System accordingly, and complete other assigned duties as they relate to financial aid, including assisting with HelpHub text inquiries. This position is primarily assigned to the Midlothian campus and serves as a floater at the Chester campus as necessary. Limited telework opportunities available. The work scheduled will include week-day hours, evenings, and some Saturdays. Incumbent will work up to 29 hours per week. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to work independently on a variety of assignments. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to include both oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in grammar skills with the ability to draft, compose, and proofread correspondences and emails. Must possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and work well under pressure. Must possess the ability to provide service to a diverse population of customers. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required. Strongly preferred: experience working in a Financial Aid office, experience using PeopleSoft and Publisher.
