CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Balancing finances can be a challenge during any time of year, but it can be particularly challenging during the holiday season and during a time when so many have had their jobs impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why John Tyler Community College is launching a new, more flexible, tuition payment plan. Students who opt to use the plan will be able to spread out their tuition payments over a longer period of time, and depending on when they enroll in the plan, they will be able to make between two and five payments plus their deposit.

“We know completing a program at Tyler can lead to a higher paying job, and we have made positive changes to our payment plan to support student access to a college education,” says Dr. William “Bill” Fiege, vice president of learning and student success. “This new plan creates a more reasonable timeframe and monthly payment for students.”

Details about the new payment plan may be found at www.brightpoint.edu/paying-for-tyler/tuition-payment-plan/. The plan is in effect starting with Spring 2021 classes. Students can now sign up for the spring semester, which includes a variety of class options that keep health and safety in mind while providing students with the flexibility they may need to navigate family responsibilities, jobs, health considerations, and their learning preferences. Most classes will be taught remotely in fully online, Zoom, or hybrid formats. A limited number of classes will be taught on-campus.

Tyler’s spring class schedule is online at www.brightpoint.edu/schedule and can be searched by subject, class format, and start date. Additional information about class formats and spring semester support resources may be found at www.brightpoint.edu/services.
