Brightpoint Community College to Host Series of Career Fairs

CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Helping students and community members connect to employers is an important part of Brightpoint Community College’s efforts to educate and strengthen the area’s workforce. As part of this ongoing work, the college is holding a series of career fairs throughout March and into April. Each career fair will focus on different employment fields. All job seekers are invited to attend. Admission is free.

Thursday, March 2, 2023

• 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
• Chester Campus, Beacon Hall and Moyar Hall
• This career fair will focus on opportunities for those with training, education and/or previous work experience in emergency medical services, education, funeral services, health, human services, massage therapy, and nursing.

• This career fair will focus on opportunities for those with training, education and/or previous work experience in the skilled trades, including air conditioning and refrigeration, architecture, electrical technology, machine technology, mechanical engineering technology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and welding.

Brightpoint Community College, formerly John Tyler Community College, offers more than 80 majors that provide pathways to careers in high-demand fields; transfer opportunities to four-year colleges and universities; and industry credentials and licensures. The college, with campuses in Chester and Midlothian, online classes, and off-campus classrooms, served more than 11,400 students during the 2021-22 academic year. It also assisted approximately 5,700 learners, including more than 2,700 job seekers, through its workforce development division, Community College Workforce Alliance, a partnership between Brightpoint and Reynolds community colleges.
