Brightpoint Community College Board to Meet in February

CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The public is invited to attend the upcoming meeting of the Brightpoint Community College Board on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the college’s Midlothian Campus, located at 800 Charter Colony Parkway, in Hamel Hall, room H109. A sign-up sheet will be made available 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting for those persons interested in addressing the Board.
Brightpoint Community College, formerly John Tyler Community College, offers more than 80 majors that provide pathways to careers in high-demand fields; transfer opportunities to four-year colleges and universities; and industry credentials and licensures. The college, with campuses in Chester and Midlothian, online classes, and off-campus classrooms, served more than 11,400 students during the 2021-22 academic year. It also assisted approximately 5,700 learners, including more than 2,700 job seekers, through its workforce development division, Community College Workforce Alliance, a partnership between Brightpoint and Reynolds community colleges.
Winter Break: December 24, 2025 – January 2, 2026
The college will be on Winter Break, from Wednesday, December 24, 2025 through Friday, January 2, 2026. During Winter Break, the campuses will be closed, and there will be no on-campus classes or services. Some remote services will be available. Information on these services and how to connect to them are outlined in our news section. Registration for Spring 2026 classes will continue online during Winter Break. Current students may sign up and pay for their classes through their SIS account in myBrightpoint. Our campuses will reopen on January 5, 2026.
