Brightpoint Prepares to Launch a new Radiologic Technology Degree
Pending approval*, this fall, Brightpoint will be starting a new applied science degree focused on radiologic technology. The major, which will be a 21-month, five-consecutive-semester program, will include learning experiences in which students will get hands-on training, as well as clinical experiences at local healthcare facilities.
Admission to the radiologic technology program will be competitive. Those who are interested in being considered must:
- Apply to Brightpoint, if they are not already a student at the college.
- By the application deadline, complete a radiologic technology program application, and meet the following program requirements:
- Completion of the following prerequisite courses with a “C” or higher or be in the progress of completing:
- SDV 100 – College Success Skills
- ENG 111 – College Composition I
- BIO 141 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I (must have been completed within 10 years of the application due date)
- BIO 142 – Human Anatomy and Physiology II (must have been completed within 10 years of the application due date)
- MTH 154 – Quantitative Reasoning
- Prerequisite courses must have a combined GPA of at least 2.5
- College GPA of at least 2.0
- Although not required, it is highly recommended that applicants complete the following corequisite courses with a “C” or higher prior to program admission.
- PSY 200 or PSY 230
- PHI 220 or PHI 227
- Completion of the following prerequisite courses with a “C” or higher or be in the progress of completing:
Applicants who meet all requirements are not guaranteed admission into the program.
There is no fee to apply to Brightpoint or the radiologic technology program.
The deadline to apply for the radiologic technology fall cohort is May 1, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
