CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Brightpoint Community College invites the community to join the college’s faculty, staff and students at 11:00 a.m. on November 11, 2025, as they honor those who have served in the armed forces. The college’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at the Chester Campus, located at 13101 Route 1, in the Nicholas Center, room N102.

This year’s ceremony will feature keynote remarks delivered by Michael Sobers, a U.S. Army veteran who is currently a student in Brightpoint’s Radiologic Technology program, and John Maxwell, a 28-year U.S. Navy veteran. After transitioning from the Navy, Maxwell worked in logistics and electronic security, and he served as commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. He currently serves as chair of the Veteran Community Network of Central Virginia.

In addition to these remarks, the ceremony will include a recognition of Brightpoint students, faculty and staff as well as community members who have served in the military; a special presentation by the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education; and music.
