Recognizing Our Veterans

Veterans Day Ceremony

In honor of Veterans Day, on November 11, 2025, Brightpoint will be holding a ceremony from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at our Chester Campus for veterans, military-affiliated students, faculty staff, and community members.

Watch a livestream of the ceremony.

Together, we will honor the service and sacrifice of veterans, spouses, and dependents, and express our deepest gratitude to those who have given so much.

The ceremony will take place in the Nicholas Center, N102A and will be followed by a light reception.

The event is free and open to the community.

In addition to the Veterans Day Ceremony, the college will be recognizing our military community with three events exclusively for students, dependents, faculty, and staff.

Make Your Monday Matter

Make Your Monday Matter is a volunteering opportunity for students, faculty, and staff. Volunteers will show their support for the local community by visiting the Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Warehouse, a provider of food assistance for neighbors in need across Chesterfield County, VA. The volunteer event will occur on Monday, November 10.

Faculty and Staff Cultural Competence Training

The Veteran Cultural Competence Training is a three-hour online learning experience to help faculty and staff understand the realities of the veteran experience. Participants will receive practical tools and insights for engaging and supporting transitioning service members. Training will take place on November 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Zoom.

Department of Veteran Services on Campus

The Virginia Department of Veteran Services will join Brightpoint for a special visit to our Midlothian Campus on November 12 at 10:00 a.m. Representatives from various divisions, including Benefits & Services, the Virginia Military Survivors & Dependents Education Program (VMSDEP), and more will be present to provide an overview of the wide range of resources and benefits available to veterans and their families.

Following the presentation, representatives will host informational tables, where attendees can ask questions, collect materials, and connect directly with the support services tailored to their needs.

The presentation will take place in Hamel Hall, H109. Student veterans, dependents, and military-affiliated faculty and staff are welcome to join.
