Virginia Partnership for Health Science Careers

Expanding the Healthcare Workforce

We're helping to transform the healthcare workforce in Central Virginia—and you can join us.

The Virginia Partnership for Health Science Careers is a state-wide coalition for healthcare workforce development. Within this coalition are nine partnerships, separated by region.

As members of the Central Virginia partnership, Brightpoint will be working alongside schools, hospitals, healthcare providers, and workforce development professionals to:

  • Increase the region's healthcare workforce
  • Develop meaningful career opportunities
  • Serve the needs of communities throughout Central Virginia

Why Brightpoint: Training Healthcare Students in Central Virginia

Brightpoint's healthcare programs can lead students to fulfilling careers in high-demand fields, such as radiologic technology, nursing, and emergency medical services.

Throughout this partnership, we'll work on developing training programs for healthcare positions like technicians, assistants, and aides, as well as other positions that community leaders and healthcare providers identify as most critical for our region.

Dr. Nancy Leahy, Associate Dean of Nursing and Allied Health at Brightpoint, serves as the project supervisor for the Central Virginia partnership.

By building a stronger pipeline of healthcare workers, we are safeguarding the health of our communities, supporting our healthcare systems, and preparing for the challenges of the future.
