RESPONSIBILITIES: Brightpoint Community College is seeking a candidate to provide support to the Career and Education Consortium (CEC) Coordinator. The position is part-time with a flexible work schedule and may have rare evening or weekend hours. Duties include: communicates professionally with external in internal contacts, assists the coordinator in planning and managing CEC events for the consortium. Assists the coordinator with research regarding consortium objectives such as work-based learning, career and technical education, STEM, social media, and regional employment initiatives. Provides support in creating, maintaining, and updating consortium related documents. Processes funding requests from schools and financial forms and documents relating to purchasing and reimbursements utilizing various College systems. Works with College and external contacts to purchase materials and plan for logistical support for conferences, workshops, and career events both in person and virtual. Assists with budgetary documents to include expenses associated with small grants, regional meetings, and workshops. Also assists in preparing reports for service region localities regarding funding and benefits provided through the consortium.

This is a grant-funded position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Experience in planning and coordinating events. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. A background check will be required. Ability to work independently and prioritize workload

Additional Consideration: Experience working in an office environment. A college degree preferred. Prior experience in working with State purchasing and travel guidelines. Ability to work independently. Logistical planning skills are preferred. Prior experience in working with K-12 education. Experience in working in higher education. Knowledge of business and industry partnerships in education.
