CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Brightpoint Community College invites the community to join the college’s faculty, staff and students at 12:30 p.m. on November 11, 2026, as they honor those who have served in the armed forces. The college’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at the Chester Campus, located at 13101 Route 1, in the Nicholas Center, room N102.

This year’s ceremony will feature keynote remarks delivered by Dr. Markeesha Reed, Founder and Executive Director of The Reed Veteran Housing Foundation. Dr. Reed, a service-disabled veteran, served for nearly a decade in the U.S. Army in the Army Reserve, National Guard, and on active-duty service, including a mobilization to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is the founder of the Reed Veteran Housing Foundation, an independent nonprofit that helps working veterans maintain stable housing through financial assistance, support services, and crisis prevention.

The ceremony also will include remarks from Brightpoint engineering student Thomas Gregory, who is a U.S. Air Force Veteran; a recognition of Brightpoint students, faculty and staff as well as community members who have served in the military; a special presentation by the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education; and music.
