Dr. William C. Fiege became Brightpoint’s eighth president in January 2024. Before stepping into this role, Dr. Fiege served for almost 12 years as our college’s vice president of learning and student success.

The Inauguration

President Fiege will be formally inaugurated this October 18 with a ceremony on our Midlothian Campus. Though the inauguration ceremony is invitation-only, we will be sharing a livestream of the event online. The ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. To watch the livestream, follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtU4k4iMVCs. Please note: you may not hear audio until the speakers are on stage.

Learn more about Dr. Fiege, including his professional background and fun facts, like how his dad was also a community college president.

Celebrate Brightpoint as a Community Member

To commemorate this special occasion, we’re hosting a number of events in October, including the UNITY Project and Fall Fest, which are open to the community.

UNITY Project is an outdoor art installation that symbolizes our shared humanity. Participants tie strands of yarn around UNITY poles that represent specific personal identifiers, creating a web of interconnectedness. If you participate, you can celebrate your own uniqueness, and recognize how connected we are to each other. A UNITY project will be open at each campus during specific times and dates. All are invited to help us create our UNITY webs.

Fall Fest is an activity-oriented event for all ages. At Fall Fest, you’ll find a haunted house, costume parade, trick-or-treat trail, games, crafts, face painting, bilingual story time, a DJ dance party, and food trucks. Admission to Fall Fest is free, so bring family and friends and join in the fun! Fall Fest will take place on our Midlothian Campus on October 25.

Stay on track with college event updates by following us on social media. Post your own photos, tag our college, and include #BrightpointCommunity and #UNITY so we can all see examples of our vibrant community.
