Get Ready to Kick off the Fall 2026 Semester!
We are excited to welcome our Trailblazers to a new academic year! The start of a new semester can be hectic, so we want to share some tips that can help:
Double-check your class schedule:
Take a few minutes to log into SIS in myBrightpoint and review your schedule. Make sure your classes are taking place on the campus you want or online as you expect. Double-check the date your classes start, as some classes in our schedule start later in the semester.
Check your student email regularly:
Important information – including reminders and notifications, job and internship opportunities, updates on services available to you, and events – are often sent to your student email (@email.vccs.edu) account. You can click on Gmail in myBrightpoint to get to your email. You can also forward your student email to your personal account if that is helpful.
Make sure you have the textbooks and supplies you need:
Not sure if you have the textbooks you need? Check out the Bookstore website, where you can determine your textbook needs by entering your student ID or by entering each of your courses.
Submit a request for a tech loan, if needed:
Brightpoint’s Library offers a tech loan program in which students may request use of items such as laptops or Chromebooks, calculators and web cams. There is no cost to borrow a device. Requests to borrow a device must be submitted two weeks before your classes begin, and due to device supplies, a request does not guarantee a loan. Visit the Library’s tech loan page to learn more about this program and to submit a request.
Get to know the college’s campus by exploring our maps:
To help you easily locate buildings, the college provides maps of the Chester Campus and Midlothian Campus on its website. The maps are downloadable and printable.
Contact the Help Hub if you have questions or need technical assistance:
Brightpoint’s Help Hub can assist you with a variety of questions, can provide technical assistance, and is a great resource for all things Brightpoint. The Help Hub is open for extended hours the last two weeks of August. Details about the Help Hub’s hours, including whether their services are being offered remotely or on campus, may be found on our website. On that page, you’ll also find information on how you can connect to the Help Hub by phone, text or email, as well as the Help Hub’s campus locations.
