CHESTER and MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Class registration continues for Brightpoint Community College’s fall semester, which kicks off on August 28, 2023, and includes new opportunities designed to help students get ahead while making college fit into their lives.

  • New this fall, the college is offering 7-Week Class Sessions in fully online and hybrid (on-campus and online) formats. There will be two seven-week sessions, scheduled back-to-back, giving students the option to focus on fewer classes at a time, while still, if they want, being able to earn enough credits in the semester to be full time (12 credits). The college’s fall schedule continues to include a wide variety of 15-week classes, as well as some 5-week classes.
  • Also, this fall, the college is launching its Accelerate Pathway. This pathway allows students to take one five-week class at a time and complete a liberal arts degree in two years. Classes are built in an online environment with game design in mind and are asynchronous, meaning students can complete their weekly assignments at the times that work best for them. Accelerate also gives students opportunities to connect to classmates, through a 24/7 virtual student lounge and a dedicated chat feature. Plus, there are no textbook fees. More information about the Accelerate Pathway may be found at www.brightpoint.edu/academics/online-learning/

Students can explore Brightpoint’s full fall schedule, which also includes flex courses that allow students to switch how they attend classes throughout the semester at www.brightpoint.edu/schedule
