Criminal Justice, AAS
This two-year program prepares students for jobs in criminal justice and law enforcement.
Students will learn to model appropriate and ethical behavior during criminal justice simulations; understand the components of the criminal justice system; explain the purpose of the juvenile justice system; understand different theories for what causes crime; and analyze interactive approaches of law enforcement agencies and the citizens they serve. This degree has options for transfer to complete a bachelor’s degree at Old Dominion University, Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia State University.

Due to the weather and its expected impact, Brightpoint Community College will be closed Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27. All classes are cancelled, and all offices will be closed.
