Criminal Justice, AAS
This two-year program prepares students for jobs in criminal justice and law enforcement.
Students will learn to model appropriate and ethical behavior during criminal justice simulations; understand the components of the criminal justice system; explain the purpose of the juvenile justice system; understand different theories for what causes crime; and analyze interactive approaches of law enforcement agencies and the citizens they serve. This degree has options for transfer to complete a bachelor’s degree at Old Dominion University, Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia State University.

Testing Center & Library at Chester
- Testing Center at the Chester Campus: Will be closed July 1. On July 2, the center will reopen in its new location, Moyar Hall, room M229.
- Library – Chester Campus: Will be closed through July 1 due to a water leak. Those who need library services may continue to use the Library at the Midlothian Campus or access Library resources, including the Chat with a Librarian service, online. Students scheduled to pick up a library laptop should go to the Security desk in Moyar (near the Help Hub).
