Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrently enrolled students earn college credit by taking courses at Brightpoint prior to their high school graduation. Students may be enrolled as juniors or seniors at local high schools or be homeschooled. Students who qualify for concurrent enrollment can take classes on the Midlothian Campus, Chester Campus or online.
All individuals admitted as concurrent enrollment students must demonstrate readiness for college by meeting one of the VCCS Multiple Measures for each type of course in which they want to be registered.
All public, private, and homeschool high school junior or senior level students, and their parents or guardians, will need to meet with a navigator in the Help Hub to get registered for classes.
To get started, fill out our Concurrent Enrollment form.
All students must upload the following documents as part of the form:
- A copy of your most current homeschool jurisdiction letter from the county in which you reside or a letter from your public or private high school giving you permission to attend Brightpoint.
- A letter from your parent or guardian giving you permission to attend Brightpoint.
- A copy of your high school transcript
- Copies on any PSAT, SAT or ACT exams you may have taken.
Please allow up to two weeks for processing concurrent paperwork and student registration.
College Closed: January 26 and January 27
Due to the weather and its expected impact, Brightpoint Community College will be closed Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27. All classes are cancelled, and all offices will be closed. The Virginia Department of Emergency Management has created a webpage about the winter storm, which includes power outage information, traffic updates, and resources.
