The TEAS test is a standardized pre-admission test designed to measure student preparedness for nursing education. The test is offered onsite through the college's Testing Center. The TEAS should be completed at least four weeks prior to the application period. Test versions are updated every several years and students are required to submit the version currently available in the college testing center. Two attempts prior to the first application are permitted. A third attempt is allowed after a 6-month waiting period. A total of 3 test attempts per version is permitted.

Students must score as Proficient, Advanced, or Exemplary to be eligible to apply to the nursing program. Because admission is competitive, candidates are encouraged to prepare prior to each attempt to obtain their best score.

TEAS evaluate basic academic knowledge in:

  • Reading (39 questions)
  • English and Language usage (33 questions)
  • Math (34 questions)
  • Science (44 questions)

TEAS include:

  • 209-minute timed assessment
  • 170 multiple-choice questions with 20 unscored pre-test questions
