At Brightpoint, we can help you with the process of applying for and utilizing your military and veterans educational benefits.

Getting Started

  1. Explore how your military training and past college coursework may allow you to earn credit for prior learning.
  2. Use the VA Comparison Tool/Payment Rates to determine which benefit is the best for you.
  3. Apply online for your veterans educational benefits at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs web site. Apply as early as possible to receive your Certificate of Eligibility and submit it to the Military & Veterans Education Office.
  4. You may also apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Brightpoint's school code is 004004. If you didn’t select a major on your application to Brightpoint, visit the Help Hub or use the online form to declare a major.

Contact the Military & Veterans Education Office for assistance in selecting the right benefits program for you.

Requesting Certification

Students need to request certification of their military benefits after registering for classes each semester.  To certify:
  1. Log in to myBrightpoint.
  2. Click on the “SIS” tile.
  3. In SIS, click on “Student Records eForms.”
  4. On the left, click the tab for “Military Benefit Certify eForm.”
  5. Fill out the information to the best of your knowledge.  If you would like to save your progress and come back later, click “Save.”  If you are finished, click the “Submit”  button.  If there are any issues with your form, an error message will pop up when you click “Submit.”  You must correct all errors.  Your classes will not be certified until your form is successfully submitted.

The Military & Veterans Education Office (MVEO) supports military personnel, veterans and their families as they navigate their benefits and their time at Brightpoint. MVEO staff are all veterans who understand where you have been and excited to help you achieve your goals.

In addition to the MVEO, the Student Veterans Organization offers opportunities for military-affiliated Brightpoint students to connect and give back to their community.

The Virginia State Approving Agency (SAA), is the approving authority of education and training programs for Virginia.  Their office investigates complaints of GI Bill beneficiaries. While most complaints should initially follow school grievance policy, if the situation cannot be resolved at the school, the beneficiary should contact the Virginia State Approving Agency.
