- Meet with an advisor in the Advising Center, and visit the Admissions and Records Office. Bring the following items:
- Current Military Orders
- Proof of residency (item of mail with name and local address if residing off-base)
- Military ID Card
- Have your military and transfer credit evaluated.
- Request / download a copy of your military transcript
- United States Air Force, request your military transcript through the Air Force Transcript Portal.
- All other branches of service, complete the Joint Services Transcript Request.
- Request official college/university transcripts be sent to:

- Use the Credit 2 Careers Portal to explore the possibility of earning credit for prior learning.
- Request / download a copy of your military transcript
- Attend an orientation session. Visit the orientation page for information about upcoming sessions, or to access our fully online orientation.
- Select your classes and register in the Student Information System in myBrightpoint.
- Pay your tuition and fees by the deadlines listed. If you do not pay all tuition and fees by the appropriate date, you may lose some or all of your classes, referred to as having your classes “dropped.”
Chapters 30, 1606, and 1607 ONLY: verify your enrollment monthly at W.A.V.E. or 877-838-2278.You must inform your Brightpoint MVEO Veterans Counselor (Certifying Official) if you:
- Change your enrollment in any manner (drop/add/withdraw)
- Change your major
Failure to do this may result in under payment or over payment of benefits, which will cause a debt to Brightpoint and/or the VA.

Each semester, you must inform the MVEO that you are enrolled in classes and you want to use your VA Educational Benefit(s).
- Meet with your academic advisor.

- Select your classes and register through the Student Information System (SIS) in myBrightpoint. Remember, the VA only pays for classes that apply to your program of study.

Get your classes “Certified” to activate your benefits. There are two ways to do this:

Meet with a MVEO Counselor.

Or, request certification through the Enrollment Certification Request Form. To access the form, log in to myBrightpoint. (link opens in new tab) Click on the “SIS” tile. In SIS, click on “Student Records eForms.” On the left, click the tab for “Military Benefit Certify eForm.” Fill out the information to the best of your knowledge. If you would like to save your progress and come back later, click “Save.” If you are finished, click the “Submit” button. If there are any issues with your form, an error message will pop up when you click “Submit.” You must correct all errors. Your classes will not be certified until your form is successfully completed.

- Pay any tuition and fees not covered (paid for) through VA benefits or financial aid by the payment deadline listed.
VMSDEP (War Orphan) recipients should bring a copy of their approval letter to the Financial Services Office prior to each term.Chapters 30, 1606, and 1607 only, MUST verify your enrollment monthly at W.A.V.E. or 877-838-2278.
VocRehab - Chapter 31 Veterans must provide a VA FORM 28-1905 from your Vocational Rehabilitation Case Manager for current term as per guidance from your Case Manager.
Students having attended and used their VA Benefits at another school, must submit a “Change of Program/Place of Training” Form (VA FORM 22-5495 for Ch. 35- DEA) OR (VA FORM 22-1995- all other chapters).

Active-Duty Benefits
Active-duty personnel may qualify for assistance through tuition assistance (TA) programs as well as Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. Find service specific TA information:
