Foundation Art Award

A Contest for Our Student Artists 

The Foundation Art Award is an annual competition sponsored by the Brightpoint Community College Foundation to showcase the artistic abilities of Brightpoint’s students. This contest occurs in two stages.

First, several finalists will be selected by a panel of judges from among the work entered during the submission period. The selected finalists will participate in an on-campus exhibition. From these exhibited works the Brightpoint Community College Foundation Board will select the Foundation Art Award winner.

The winner and all finalists will be invited to attend the Brightpoint Student Awards Night in Spring 2026, where they will be publicly recognized.

Call for Entries: Nov. 3 - 7, 2025

Get ready for your chance to win $500 and a framed copy of the Foundation Art Award poster featuring your artwork! The Brightpoint Community College Foundation Art Award competition is free to enter and a great portfolio opportunity for students. Entries can be submitted to Room E307 in Eliades Hall on our Midlothian Campus during the dates listed above. The competition is open to current Brightpoint students.

Fill out an entry form to submit your artwork by November 7.

2025 Foundation Art Award Winner

Maya Berinhout's winning drawing, Hello There! was created for a class assignment in which students could only use lines, shapes and patterns when drawing an animal or a person. Read the 2025 Foundation Art Award Announcement to learn more about Maya and her artistic journey.
