Hazing Transparency Report
Brightpoint is committed to creating a safe and supportive campus community where students can learn, participate, and build meaningful connections. In accordance with Virginia’s anti-hazing laws, § 18.2-56 and § 23.1-822 (Adam’s Law) of the Code of Virginia, Brightpoint maintains and publicly reports actual findings of hazing violations reported to the college or local law enforcement. The Hazing Transparency Report provides information on hazing incidents that resulted in a finding of responsibility, including the investigation outcome and the institution's response. Hazing Prevention
Hazing prevention starts with awareness. Brightpoint provides students with resources and training to help recognize, report, and prevent hazing. Student Prevention education is provided through Vector Solutions™ VA Safe Colleges online education programs, including Hazing Awareness and Prevention for Students.
Hazing prevention programs are provided to students through their SDV 100 courses and shared with students by email at the beginning of each semester.
The hazing policy is published annually in the College Catalog and Student Handbook.
